2012 Renault Duster

Today’s all-terrain vehicles are often synonymous with bulk, but Renault Duster is an antidote to that idea. With a length of 4.31 metres and a width of 1.82 metres, Renault Duster is very compact. Its Megane-size proportions ensure that it is as at home in built-up areas as it is off the beaten track.

Renault Duster was designed to cope with all types of road and track, all over the world. In order to meet these wide-ranging needs, Renault Duster will be available in both 4x4 and 4x2 form.

The strengthened underside of Renault Duster is suitable for loose-surfaces and all-terrain use thanks to: high ground clearance of 210mm, short overhangs (822mm at the front, 820mm at the rear) and big clearance angles.
Travelling comfort

Renault Duster's occupants will appreciate the high standard of travelling comfort it provides, whatever the type of road or terrain, thanks to its high ride-height (205mm in 4x2 version and 210mm in 4x4 version) and specific work on its suspension (damper travel, springs and calibration). Comfort is further enhanced by Duster's long wheelbase (2.67m) and big 16-inch wheels.

Renault Duster can be ordered with a 1.6 16V 105 petrol engine or a dCi 85 diesel engines, both of which have already showcased their qualities under the bonnet of numerous other Renault models.

Both boast particularly thrifty fuel consumption:

* The combined cycle fuel consumption of the 4x2 and 4x4 versions of Renault Duster dCi 85 is just 5.1 and 5.3 litres/100km respectively.
* The combines cycle fuel consumption of the 4x2 and 4x4 versions of Renault Duster 1.6 16V 105 is 7.5 and 7.9 litres/100km respectively.

No compromise on safety

Renault Duster benefits from Renault’s acclaimed expertise in the area of safety.

On the active safety front, Renault Duster features, depending on versions, Bosch 8.1 ABS, as well as EBV electronic brakeforce distribution and EBA emergency brake assist.

On the passive safety front, Renault Duster is fitted, as standard, with two front airbags (depending on market) and three-point seat belts with load limiters for the front seats, to which pyrotechnic pretensioners can be added. Depending on the version, two lateral head/thorax airbags are fitted in addition to the driver and passenger front airbags.
Manufacturing and sales

Revealed at the 2011 Buenos Aires Motor Show, Renault Duster is manufactured in the Curitiba plant (Brazil) and appeared on the Brazilian and Argentinian markets in October of the same year.

Then it should spread across other South American markets.

This car will also be manufactured in the SOFASA plant (Colombia).

Renault Duster will be soon available in Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East (Jordan, Syria, Lebanon), India and some African countries (Egypt).

And requires less for the larger model and refined Hyundai, Equus, start marketing in the U.S. market. For now have until the prices, and the truth is that it promises to position itself as an attractive option for equipment, motor and comfort. All Equus marketed in this country will be equipped with the 4.6i V8 engine 385 hp (specific approval of the U.S.), associated with a six-speed automatic transmission. The average consumption of 11.3 L/100 can be considered correct taking into account the size and weight of this saloon. All Equus include suspension and steering piloted EHPS (electro-hydraulic).
The economic level and includes a full complement that Germans leave rivals in a bad financial position. For example, the seats are electric, thermal and lumbar adjustment, split alloy wheels measure a generous 19 inches, covered with leather for a number of trims, dashboard and in both seats, directional headlights, xenon, sensors parking, cruise control, electric parking brake, etc. The Ultimate also adds rear seats with different regulations (for 4 people) and ventilation, massage function, power plant console, illuminated vanity mirrors in rear, 360 degree vision system, etc.
Hyundai has issued a new sketch depicting the interior of its BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class killer (okay, we're being sarcastic now), the 2010 Equus that is scheduled for release this month. If this rendering is anything go by and with the exception of the fact that it sports more wood than a lumberyard, the luxury sedan's cabin is nothing out of the ordinary in terms of design. The Asian-market only 2010 Equus is based on a stretched version of the Genesis sedan platform and it will be offered with V6 and V8 powertrains.

It was inevitable—and reported by us just yesterday—that Porsche would further extend its Panamera range. Just a couple of years after the launch of the Panamera Turbo, Porsche is adding a Turbo S to the lineup by squeezing another 50 hp out of its awesome 4.8-liter, twin-turbo V-8. This model is not exactly a surprise: The Panamera’s V-8 engines are shared with the Cayenne, and the last-generation Cayenne was already offered with a 550-hp variation. (Here's a wild prediction: Porsche will add a new Cayenne Turbo S soon.)

The Panamera is a big and heavy car, but it shines as it thunders down the road at surreal speeds. Modified engine management and improved titanium-aluminum turbochargers enable the aforementioned 550 hp, as well as 553 lb-ft of torque, up from 516 for the regular Turbo. In the chassis’s "Sport" and "Sport Plus" modes, an overboost function increases the twist to a wild 590 lb-ft. The regular Turbo can muster an already-impressive 568 lb-ft under overboost, which is accessed by paying for the Sport Chrono package. This package is standard in the Turbo S.

The added power translates into performance you won't need to complain about: Porsche says 60 mph can be achieved in 3.6 seconds, but we clocked the regular Turbo at 3.3. Figure a tenth or two quicker than that, thanks in large part to the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic, which includes a launch-control function. It is the only available transmission. The company claims a top speed of 190 mph, but based on our testing, the real-world figure will be higher by about 5 mph. If you care, Porsche has no final fuel-economy ratings yet, but it says they will be close to the Turbo’s city/highway figures of 15/23 mpg.

No major changes were made to the chassis, which can be considered supremely competent even among high-performance sedans, but the rear track has been engorged by specific 20-inch Turbo II wheels. Europe gets the option of low-rolling-resistance tires on 19-inch wheels, which increase efficiency—yippee!

The slight performance increase comes at a not-so-slight premium. Porsche is asking for a cool $174,175, as opposed to the $136,275 required for a Panamera Turbo. For that money, you get some of the Turbo’s performance options as standard (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Sport Chrono, etc.), as well as side skirts out of the "Porsche Exclusive" parts bin and the choice of special color combinations. Agate gray metallic is exclusive to the Panamera Turbo S, and inside there are two color combos—black/cream and agate gray/cream—that you can't get on any other Panamera. We predict these color choices will prove to be especially popular among Turbo S customers, who will be eager to point out to their friends exactly what they got for an extra $38K. (It’s worth mentioning that Porsche also offers a $21,000 Power Pack to upgrade your Panamera Turbo to 540 hp, but it doesn’t include all the S goodies.)

The spacious Porsche hatchback remains the second-fastest sedan in the VW Group—the Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed has a top speed of 200 mph—and that’s not likely to change for a while, at least until the Bugatti Galibier comes to market. And, if anything, it will serve as a nice benchmark for Audi and its upcoming RS6. Is anyone else enjoying VW Group’s high-powered supersedan civil war as much as we are?
2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo S Review
The new Porsche Panamera Turbo S is to raise the bar for luxury sports cars four doors. The newest addition to the Gran Turismo series offers a unique combination of performance and efficiency, driving dynamics and comfort. The 4.8-liter V8 bi-turbo delivers 550 hp (410 kW), an increase of ten percent or 50 hp (37 kW) more than the Panamera Turbo. Torque also increases from 700 to 750 Nm and the Sport and Sport Plus "mode of the Sport Chrono Package Turbo standard - and during the kick-down in normal mode - the eight-cylinder engine delivers 800 Nm of Courtesy overboost function.
This engine delivers both improved Sprint's record for the new high end of the Panamera. When you use the launch control, 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) is achieved in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 191 mph (306 kmh) as possible. However, despite the increase in performance, fuel consumption Panamera Porsche Turbo S is maintained at a moderate level of the Panamera Turbo 24.6mpg combined NEDC - an example of intelligent performance of Porsche.

The improved performance compared Panamera Turbo can be attributed to two improvements. Improved turbo with titanium turbine wheel and aluminum-modified engine management. Use of titanium-aluminum alloy to reduce weight innovative turbine wheels and compressor. This results in a lower moment of inertia, and thus better and more responsive acceleration.
Porsche Panamera Turbo S has an overall level of equipment. In accordance with the Panamera sports concept, high performance, Turbo S offers a number of dynamic driving control system as a major standard. For example, increases the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), a system of active roll stabilization, stability during cornering and thus increases both driving dynamics and comfort to the same degree. Porsche Torque Plus guide (PTV More) uses a variable torque split to the rear wheels in combination with a locking rear differential, electronically controlled limited provides superior traction and therefore more flexibility in every situation. Sport Chrono Package Turbo, which adjusts the suspension settings and engine control, makes the car even more sporting when the additional "Sport Plus" button. End of the development is a dynamic that offers a sport exhaust engine sound very emotional.
The distinctiveness of the new Porsche Panamera Turbo S is not manifested only in performance, but also outside. The 20-inch alloy II Turbo widest rear axle, side skirts Porsche Exclusive and adaptability to four lanes extending rear spoiler, color coordinated body looks help set appropriate focus on performance. The merger of exclusivity and sportiness is transported into the leather upholstery in two standard tones. Two new option combinations black / cream and agate gray and cream are offered exclusively for the new Panamera Turbo S will be available this fall.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo S goes on sale in June and is priced at £ 122,623. Installed in all the Panamera Turbo S Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (VTS), a sophisticated vehicle security package approved to Thatcham Category 5 standard, and guests can also explore the possibilities of their new car by participating in a free course Porsche experience in manufacturing, Silverstone.

Columbiana Cadillac Dealer Spotlights 2011 Escalade Hybrid
Columbiana drivers looking to save on fuel without sacrificing their taste for luxury are in luck; the 2011 Escalade Hybrids have arrived at Columbiana Buick Cadillac Chevrolet.
Cadillac’s 2011 Escalade is the perfect blend of fuel economy and classic Cadillac luxury, and is the world’s first hybrid full-size luxury SUV.

With an EPA-rated 20 city miles per gallon, the 2011 Escalade Hybrid’s fuel economy boasts a 33 percent improvement over the non-hybrid model.

And while the fuel economy has been drastically improved, the Hybrid doesn’t sacrifice the Escalade’s standard comfort and convenience features, making it the perfect blend for driver’s looking to save on gas, without sacrificing style.

The 2011 Escalade Hybrid uses a patented two-mode hybrid system, with an advanced, electrically variable transmission and a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System. This system pairs with the standard 6.0L V-8 Gen IV gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management and late-intake valve closing technology.

The hybrid system generates the electrical power used to propel the 2011 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid. When the driver applies the brakes, or when the engine is coasting, the electric motors within the hybrid system create electricity that is stored in the battery. This stored energy moves the vehicle, saving on fuel economy.

With the 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System, the stored energy powers the vehicle. Despite its power, this addition does not interfere; it sits under the second-row seat, taking up virtually no additional space.

2011 Escalade Hybrid Combines Fuel Efficiency With Ultimate Luxury Package
A platinum version of the 2011 Escalade Hybrid is also available, featuring luxury upgrades and aesthetic-boosting additions for the driver seeking the ultimate in efficiency, luxury and style.

The platinum edition includes innovative technology and an even more stylish look. On the exterior, unique 22-inch wheels and exclusive Platinum badges make their mark for anyone admiring the 2011 Escalade Hybrid from a distance.

This special edition also features segment-first applications of Magnetic Ride Control technology, which gives the vehicle more precise body motion control.

Full-functioning LED headlamps are also included, and emulate the characteristics of natural daylight much more closely than traditional auto lighting. Adding to the increased efficiency and decreased impact of the 2011 Escalade Hybrid, these LEDs are environmentally friendly lasting 10 times longer than traditional halogen bulbs.

Style on the interior is heightened with leather on the instrument panel, with olive ash and walnut burl wood inlays and aluminum trim.
As of this month GM is adding a third model to its family of Two-Mode hybrids as the Cadillac Escalade hybrid becomes the first luxury SUV so equipped. The Escalade is of course built on the same GMT900 platform as the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon. As such much of what goes in the places you can't see is exactly the same on all three vehicles including the entire powertrain. All three SUVs get the same 6.0L V8 paired up with the Two-Mode transmission. Unlike Chrysler's new hybrid SUVs all three GM trucks are available in either rear or all wheel drive.

The Escalade distinguishes itself from its siblings with unique front and rear styling and a significantly more upscale interior. If you thought the first two hybrid SUVs were expensive you haven't seen anything yet. The rear wheel drive Escalade price tag tips the scales at a mere $71,685 some $20,000 more than the Tahoe. That makes the Escalade the world's second most expensive hybrid behind the Lexus LS600h. Unlike the earlier hybrids GM is actually declaring that the Escalade hybrid commands a $3,600 price premium over a comparably equipped conventional model. We had a chance to take a short drive in the Escalade around Birmingham MI today.
In short the Escalade driving experience was virtually identical to the GMC/Chevy versions. The firm brake pedal feel produced by the electro-hydraulic brake system remains and transitions between regenerative and friction braking were virtually indistinguishable. As in the other Two-Mode SUVs the 6.0L has been calibrated to stay in four cylinder mode much more of the time, instead relying on the electric motors to provide transient power for passing or climbing a grade. The EPA has rated the rear wheel drive Escalade at 20/21 mpg, 1 mpg less than the Tahoe/Yukon. In short it drives like a big, three ton SUV, albeit a very quiet one. Compared to its lesser siblings the heavier Escalade looses some towing capacity, dipping to 5,800 lbs for the RWD and 5,600 lbs for the AWD.

When asked whether the weak sales of the Tahoe and Yukon had impacted GM's decision making on the Escalade hybrid pricing, Cadillac officials acknowledged that it was one of many factors considered. Nonetheless this is one expensive truck. Cadillac plans to market this thing as what it is, an Escalade, but one that gets significantly better fuel mileage than a conventional model. The bold styling is apparently one of the main selling points of the Escalade and Cadillac chose not to mess with that and passed on giving the Escalade unique styling like it did with the Tahoe/Yukon.
The only distinguishing feature of the hybrid is all the hybrid badging of which there is plenty. The Escalade gets badges on the enlarged fender vents, the C-Pillars and the tailgate. Unfortunately like the earlier hybrids, GM has chosen to add large hybrid stickers to the both rocker panels, the top of the windshield and the rear window. Asked about it Cadillac officials explained that the badging is easily removable with a heat gun and dealers will do it for customers upon request. Perhaps GM should be shipping Escalades without stickers and having dealers apply them on request. On a $72,000 luxury SUV these things just look really tacky.

No one would talk about sales projections for the hybrid but Cadillac is expecting total sales in the mid to upper 40,000 range this year, down from about 58,000 in 2007. They do think that buyers of the Escalade might be more amenable to the price premium for the hybrid system. The Cadillac SUV gets almost the same mileage as the Lexus LS600h without sacrificing any cargo capacity to the battery. The Escalade is clearly not in direct competition with the LS but it does make an interesting comparison. Will the Escalade succeed in a market that is abandoning big SUVs in droves? Only time will tell.
